As we embarked on Year 2 of the King County Promise, we took a moment earlier this October to celebrate the collective achievements and milestones we've reached in partnership with our seven Promise Partner Organizations. The launch included relationship-building, cross-partner learning, and discussions about collective decision-making, all to strengthen our collaborative efforts.
In the first year of implementation, our Promise Partners collectively served over 220 students, providing advising and financial support on their journeys to higher education. Both partnerships experienced high rates of FAFSA completion and overall engagement. Students attending partner colleges received equity stipends to help cover unexpected expenses.
In Year 2, the King County Promise is co-developing a youth voice strategy in collaboration with our partners. This model will serve as a robust framework to integrate student voice into promise programming. By doing so, we aim to empower our students, ensuring that their voices are centered and their unique perspectives are valued. We look forward to sharing more progress on this in the future.
