Naveed joins the team as a PSCCN Manager in March to facilitate collective efforts to improve equity in postsecondary access and success. Here's a bit about Naveed: Naveed is an equity-driven, innovative leader, and social justice advocate with 8+ years of experience working with students and families in various communities in Pierce and King County. Naveed is joining us from The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department (TPCHD) where he led health equity efforts in COVID-19 community engagement, participatory budgeting & planning, and youth leadership/advocacy. Prior to his work at TPCHD, Naveed worked at The College Success Foundation-Tacoma as a College Prep Advisor supporting 11th and 12th grade students, as well as admin with college and career planning support. Naveed is a first generation Iranian-American who draws from his lived experience and student-centered approach to empower youth leaders. Naveed has a Master of Public Health in Community-Oriented Public Health Practice and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from UW-Seattle. Naveed lives in Tacoma and enjoys cooking, biking, and playing guitar.
