Transition
The transition from high school to postsecondary education and training is known to be difficult for recent high school graduates. With high school over, students often do not know where to turn for help. Without access to a knowledgeable support network or skills and experiences that have prepared them to navigate post-high-school systems, thousands of students each year are not able to successfully enroll in postsecondary programs they eagerly committed to during their senior year. Low-income, first generation, and students of color, who often rely more on their school for information and support related to postsecondary education, are disproportionately impacted by barriers and challenges that can occur during this time. In the Puget Sound region, there is a strong commitment to addressing this unacceptable opportunity gap. Learn more about our regional efforts in the transition to postsecondary space.
